1. Who we are and what Atlas is

Atlas is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“we”, “us”). Atlas is an AI assistant for small businesses: you describe what happened in plain language, and it keeps double-entry books, a contact list, tasks, and pipelines for your workspace, and can build simple pages over that data. Responses are generated by Claude, a model made by Anthropic, using the records in your workspace. Every entry that touches your books is shown to you for approval before it is posted.

By creating an account or a workspace, or by accepting an invitation to one, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using Atlas on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

2. This is a private beta

Atlas is pre-release software offered to a small, invited group. During the beta it may break, be unavailable, lose data, or produce wrong results, and we may change or remove features without notice. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We may end the beta, or your access to it, at any time and for any reason.

The beta runs on the web app only. Text-message (SMS) and inbound email intake are not enabled.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and using Atlas for a business, not for personal or household purposes. Workspace creation is limited to email addresses we have approved for the beta; others may join only through an invitation from a workspace owner.

4. Your account and workspace

You sign in with a verified email address or a Google account. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in. A workspace is the unit that holds a business’s data. The person who creates a workspace is its owner and controls who can join it and what each member is allowed to do. During the beta a workspace has exactly one owner, ownership cannot be transferred, and a workspace cannot be deleted from inside the app — ask us (section 12) and we will do it by hand. Invitations are single-use links that expire after seven days and cannot be revoked once sent, only replaced by re-inviting the same address.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Atlas for anything unlawful, or to keep books for an activity that is unlawful;
• upload content you do not have the right to share, or another person’s personal information without a lawful basis;
• try to access another workspace’s data, probe or overload the service, or interfere with other users;
• attempt to manipulate the AI into ignoring its safeguards, or use it to generate abusive or deceptive material;
• resell or provide access to Atlas to third parties, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows.

6. Your data, our software

You own your data. Everything you put into Atlas — your transactions, contacts, receipts, notes, and chats — and the records Atlas creates from it belong to you. You give us only the permission we need to store, process, and display that data in order to run the service for you, including sending the relevant parts to the providers named in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell it and we do not use it to train AI models.

We own the software. Atlas, its design, prompts, code, and everything about the service other than your data is ours or our licensors’. You get a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use it for your business during the beta, and nothing more. If you send us feedback or suggestions we may use them without obligation to you.

7. Price

Atlas is free during the beta. If we later introduce paid plans, we will tell you in advance and you will be able to choose whether to continue. Nothing in these terms obliges us to keep any feature free.

8. Not accounting, tax, or legal advice

We say it again because it is the clause that matters most. Atlas automates bookkeeping; it does not replace an accountant, and nothing it produces — an entry, a category, a report, a chat reply — is professional advice or a representation that your books are correct or compliant. AI output is probabilistic and can be confidently wrong. Review every posting. Do not rely on Atlas alone for tax returns, financial statements you give to others, or any decision with money or legal consequences.

9. No warranty

Atlas is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not promise uptime, that data will not be lost, or that errors will be fixed.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, tax penalties, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or related to Atlas, however caused. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Atlas in the twelve months before the claim — which, during the free beta, is zero. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

11. Ending things

You can stop using Atlas at any time and ask us to delete your account and data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access, or the beta as a whole, at any time. When the beta ends we will make reasonable efforts to give you a way to get your data out first. Sections 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be brought in the courts located there. Questions, deletion requests, and notices go to [CONTACT EMAIL].

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version and date at the top of this page change when we do, and for anything material we will tell you by email or with a notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Atlas after that means you accept the new terms.
